Applications are finally open for one of the most awaited Slovak Republic National Scholarship Programme for the academic session 2025.  The Government of Slovakia offers a prestigious “National Scholarship Programme” to international students, teachers, researchers, and artists who wish to undertake short-term study, research, or teaching stays at participating higher education institutes or research organizations in Slovakia.

The objective of the program is to promote international cooperation, cultural enrichment, and academic exchange. The NL scholarship is accepting applications from all nationals except Slovak citizens. The scholarships are available in a wide range of programs covering Economics, Legal Science, Natural Sciences, Informatics, Technical Sciences, Health Care, Education, Humanities, Security Science, Defence, and military, and many more that allow international applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.

The scholarship is fully financed by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Slovak Republic, The program covers a monthly stipend, Meals, Travel Grants, and accommodation for the duration of the program. NSP Programme is for?

The scholarship program is offered for international:

  • Students
  • PhD students
  • University Teachers
  • Artisits
  • Researchers

Program Duration

The scholarship is covered for the following duration

  • PhD students: 1-10 Months
  • Master’s Students: (4–5 or 9–10 months) or (3–10 months)
  • Teachers, Researchers, or Artists: 1-10 Months

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for the students, Phd students and researchers, university teachers, and artists vary, check out below.

Students

  • International students currently pursuing their degree program outside Slovakia
  • A master’s student or has completed at least 2.5 years of university studies
  • Accepted by the higher education institute of Slovakia

PhD Students

  • International students pursuing their PhD degree outside Slovakia
  • Students accepted by a Slovak research or higher education institute
  • University Teachers, Researchers & Artists
  • Applicants invited by the Slovak institutes to conduct research or development

Scholarship Coverage 

  • A monthly stipend for Master’s level: €620
  • A monthly stipend for PhD Level: €1,025.50
  • A monthly stipend for University Teachers, Artists, and Researchers:
    • Without a PhD or less than 4 years of experience: €1,025.50
    • With PhD + less than 10 years experience: €1,370
    • With PhD + greater than 10 years experience: €1,470
  • Students and PhD students are also eligible for the travel allowance
  • Scholarship covers the living costs for the duration of the program
