You heard it right applications are open for the 3rd Southbound Taiwan Policy Elite Study Program 2024 that is going to be held at National Quemoy University (NQU).

The 3rd Southbound Policy Elite study program is inviting applications from students in schools, colleges, or universities to participate in this exchange program. The program is offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give a deeper understanding of Taiwan to international students. The duration of the Policy Elite Study program is 5 months and all the costs during your stay are covered by the host organization including Accommodation, Round Trip Tickets, Monthly allowance, and much more.

Program Location & Duration

• The duration of the Policy Elite Study program is 5 months which will commence from September 2024 till January 2025 at National Quemoy University (NQU)

Program Coverage:

The program provides the following coverage for the duration of the program:

• A monthly stipend of NTD 7,000
• Round Airfare tickets
• Course fees
• Program Activities fees
• Accommodation during your stay

Who can Apply?

• Applications are invited from students in schools, colleges, or universities.
• Applicants have an interest in New Southbound policy, Regional security issues, and Cross-Strait relations.
• Students from the following countries are invited to apply:
  • Pakistan, Cambodia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia,  Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar,  Laos, India,  Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Australia or New Zealand.

Required Documents

• Complete application form
• Enrollment certificate from your host school and university
• Academic transcript
• Recommendation letter from HOD or senior professor
• Study Plan & Autobiography
• Any other additional documents such as achievement certificates, Language proficiency tests, Awards, etc.

Application Procedure

1. Students need to contact their schools
2. Submit an application
3. Obtain the admission notification
4. Submit the application to the overseas mission in Taiwan and get a visa
