The University of Twente offers UTS scholarships to brilliant students from non-EU/EER countries to pursue full-time master’s degree programs. The institute offers 2 rounds of UTS scholarship each year currently the application for Round 1 is open for September 2025 intake.
The scholarship will award approximately 50 scholarships worth € 3,000 – € 22,000 for one year, the scholarship award is meant to cover your education cost e.g. tuition fees it’s up to students how they spend the money. This is your chance to become one of the promising students of the University of Twente and intake for one of three honors programs design honours, Change Leaders, or Research Honours.

Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship provides an allowance of € 3,000 – € 22,000 for one year as compensation for study-related costs.
In case applicants are enrolled in a year’s master’s program they will receive an additional UTS scholarship as of the previous year to cover the study expenses for the second year but for that, they have to meet the process requirements for the UTS that includes:
- Completed at least 50% of European Credits of the first year
- Obtained an average grade of 7 out of 10
Eligiblity Criteria
- The UTS scholarship is open for all the non-EU/EEA nationals
- Received a conditional admission letter
- You must have a student number
- Comply with English language test requirement
- Must have an excellent academic record
Ineligibility Criteria:
- Dutch, EU/EEA students are not eligible to apply.
- Graduates of the University of Twente can not apply.
- Students currently enrolled in UT can not apply.
- The scholarships are not available for Geo Information Science and Earth Observation.

For students who apply for Round 1 and their application is rejected they cannot apply for Round 2.
How to Apply for the University of Twente Scholarship?
All candidates who are interested in the 2025 University of Twente UTS scholarship need to apply for the Masters degree program first, once you apply and receive an admission letter you can apply with your student number.
The application process for the scholarship is separate from the application for the course entry make sure to be considered for the scholarship if you get admitted to one of the qualifying UT Masters programs.
