The United Nations Volunteer program, through its official Unified Volunteering Platform (UVP), has announced a call for applications for the UNDP Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Volunteer Assignment and seeks applications from talented and motivated young professionals holding a minimum bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or related fields. The assignment is based in Suva, Fiji. It’s a full-time, in-person position, and volunteers will work on-site at UN premises. Selected candidates will serve as Monitoring and Evaluation Officers with the UNDP on a 3-month contract. The volunteer program supports SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). About the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Assignment

The assignment is offered within the UNDP. The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will work closely with the Government of Fiji to strengthen the reporting, monitoring, and verification systems for public sector projects. The officer will gain professional work experience while working alongside the UNDP programme team and contributing to the groundbreaking projects.

Who can Apply?

  • Applicants must be a legal resident or national of the country of assignment.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of professional expereince in the relevant field.
  • Age must be between 18 and 80 years old at the time of application.
  • Fluency in the English language is required.
  • Completed a bachelor’s degree in Ecobomics, Statistics, Development studies, Monitoring and evaluation, or related areas.
  • Areas of expertise include economics, finance, development programs, and IT.

Required Skills

  • Possess excellent management skills.
  • Experience in Monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Profiency in Microsoft Excel or other statistical tools.

Preference is given to:

  • Work experience with the UN/UNDP system
  • Demonstrate experience in capacity building
  • Know MRV frameworks

M&E Officer Tasks

The monitoring and evaluation officer will assist with the following tasks:

  • Collect and monitor data from government projects.
  • Review, clean, and verify the data.
  • Organize the data as per the approved MRV framework.
  • Create reporting templates for ministries.
  • Assist the ministries in integrating the reporting system.
  • Train the staff to manage the reports.
