UNEP offers internship programs in a wide range of areas for students and fresh graduates throughout the year to provide them with hands-on experience and knowledge in their areas of interest. Work Location and Duration
- The Max duration of the internship is 6 months it will commence between March – and October 2025. The interns will be working 40 hours a week under the supervision of the assigned staff member at the Geneva office.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Environment Affairs – Intern you must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- The internship is open to all nationals
- Students enrolled in the last year of the undergraduate degree program
- Students enrolled in the graduate degree program
- Academic background in environmental studies and social sciences or related fields
- Demonstrate interest in working with the United Nations
- A computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and other standard application
- Have an interest in Environmental issues and digital marketing strategies
- No work experience is required
- Proficiency in one of the UN working languages English or French
Application Evaluation
- The application evaluation for the internship will be based on an assessment test followed by the interview short-listed applicants will be contacted by the hiring managers.

- The internship position is not financially remunerated by the United Nations, costs related to accommodation, living expenses, and travel need to be covered by the interns or their sponsoring institutes.

- Applicants who are not citizens of the country where an internship is offered need to obtain a valid work visa, Selected interns will be assisted with the visa requirements by the United Nations
