Applications are open for the UNESCO Intercultural Leadership Program 2025. The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization has recently announced the Intercultural Leadership program through its official portal. UNESCO is inviting applications from Young intellectuals from all around the world with a proven record of leadership in their field to apply and drive meaningful impact in their communities.

The objective of the program is to equip emerging leaders with the knowledge, skills to champion intercultural dialogue to address the pressing global challenges. The intercultural leadership program revolves around an exciting theme of Learning to Collaborate for a Shared Future: Using dialogue to foster social cohesion in a world on the move’. Moreover, participants will engage in online training workshops, ongoing learning and exchange and peer-to-peer learning, and mentorship. This is your chance to become a part of a dynamic, international network of young changemakers and drive change through intercultural dialogue in your communities. The key feature of the program includes participation in the UNESCO Global Youth Leaders Dialogue for peace in Guangzhou, China, in April 2026. 

Applicants who are interested in the Intercultural Leadership programme need to submit their applications by June 22, 2025 (Paris time). Incomplete and late submissions of applications won’t be entertained. Read more about the program below.

Program Offers

During the program, participants will engage in structured capacity-building training that includes:

1. Trainings

  • Online Workshops: Designed to equip participants with knowledge and skills to embody intercultural leadership and implement projects within their home communities.
  • Ongoing Learning & Exchange: Ongoing training will help participants to further strengthen their skills and knowledge to carry out projects in their communities
  • Learning and Mentorship: Personalized coaching will be offered to the participants for the implementation of the project in their communities

2. Financial Grants

After the initial online training workshop, participants will submit their plans to implement the project within their community. Upon approval, participants will receive a grant of 10,000 USD to implement their projects along with ongoing training and mentorship

3. Participation in the Global Youth Dialogue in China

The program also offers an opportunity to participate in the in-person UNSECO Global Leaders Dialogue for Peace in Guangzhou, China, where you will present your projects and participate in dialogues with high-level leaders

Who can Apply?

Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are eligible for the leadership programme:

  • UNESCO is accepting applications from all nationaltiies
  • Applicants ages between 25-45 years may apply
  • Have proven track record of leadership in their respective fields
  • Demonstrate interest in intercultural dialogue and social impact
  • Poficient in English language
  • Committed to bring change in their communities
  • Available for all program components

Project Requirement

  • The project must allging with the theme Learning to Collaborate for a Shared Future: Using dialogue to foster social cohesion in a world on the move’
  • Implemented within 6 months
  • Be of local scope
