The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), one of the specialized agencies of the United Nations) has announced a call for applications for the “UNESCO Junior Research Consultant 2026” position for the Global Education Monitoring report and is seeking applications from talented individuals worldwide. Multiple positions are announced for UNESCO duty stations; the assignment duration is 7-11 months. The Junior Research consultant will be working under the supervision of the Chief Education Policy and will assist in preparing regional and global reports, among other tasks.

UNESCO is seeking applications from candidates holding a Master’s degree in Education, Economics, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in research, education, or economics. Eligibility Criteria

Applications are invitied from applicants meeting the following criteria:

  • Calling applications from all nationals
  • Applicants holding a minimum master’s degree in economics, education, or related areas are invitied to apply
  • At least 2 years of work experience in research, education, economics, or relevant areas
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Knowledge of any other official UN language would be a plus
