The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization has announced the call for the applciations for the most anticipated “UNESCO World Heritage Young Professional Forum 2026″ under the theme “World Heritage, Communities and Education: Empowering Youth as Agents of Change.” A fully funded international forum as a part of the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee in the framework of the UNESCO World Education Programme, the Republic of Korea, in collaboration with the Korea Heritage Service and the Korea National Commission for UNESCO, is hosting this forum in Korea from July 13-21, 2026.
The objective of the forum is to strengthen and enhance the skills of young professionals engaged in protecting, managing, and safeguarding the cultural world heritage sites. During the forum, the participants will have an unparalleled learning experience through intensive training, workshops, presentations, and discussions at world heritage sites in the Republic of Korea. At the end of the program, the young professionals will present their declaration at the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee. The forum is inviting applications from young professionals, practitioners, or researchers aged 23 to 32 years, engaged in heritage education.
It’s a fully funded forum; all the expenses will be shouldered by the host organization, which includes accommodation, airfare coverage, meals, transportation costs, and visa costs. No Aplication fee is required. The application process is online via the “UNESCO World Heritage Convention official Portal”. Eligibility Criteria
Individuals meeting the following criteria are invited to submit applications for the World Heritage Young Professional Forum:

- Agree requirement: 23-32 years old at time of application
- Young professionals working in the areas of world heritage, education, research, innovation, and NGOs
- Profiency in the English language
- Applicants must commit to full-time participation in the Republic of Korea
