The United Nations Population Fund, one of the UN’s sexual and reproductive health agencies, through the United Nations Volunteer platform, has announced the call for applications for the “UNFPA Adolescents and Youth Fellow 2026 position” and is seeking talented, motivated candidates. This is a full-time on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt, for a 12-month assignment with the possibility of extension based on performance. The Youth Fellow will work at the UN premises under the supervision of the UNV, the Adolescents and Youth Regional Advisor.

The UNV invites applications from talented individuals holding at least a bachelor’s degree in development studies, social sciences, international affairs, or related fields, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience. Candidates with expertise in population activities, youth-led programs, or development programs will be preferred. UN Volunteer Package

The United Nations Youth Volunteer will recieve following package for the duration of the assignment:

  • A living allowance of USD 2,012.45/Month
  • One-time entry lump sum of USD 4000
  • One-time exit lump sum on completion of the assignment
  • Comprehensive health insurance
  • Access to the UNV e-campus for training

Eligiblity Criteria

  • Applicants holding a nationality of a country other than Egypt can apply
  • Individuals aged between 18 and 30 years can apply
  • Holding a minimum bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, international affairs, development studies, or related fields.
  • Excellent command of the English and Arabic languages
  • Working knowledge of the French language would be an asset
  • Individuals with expertise in the areas of communication, development, and administration will be preferred

Required Skills

  • Excellent administration and management skills
  • Demonstrate experience in the youth-led programming
  • Understanding of human rights approaches and a result-based management system
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural work environment
  • Previous experience as a volunteer would be an asset
