Applications are open to apply for the UNDIR Graduate Professional Program 2026. United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), Strategic Communication Department, is seeking a “Graduate professional” for its Geneva, Switzerland office to support their external and internal communication efforts. The selected applicants will serve as a “Graduate Professional” and will report directly to the UNIDIR Head of the Communication Department.
The duration of the programme is 6 months with the possibility of extension, based on the candidate’s performance. The applications are invited from all nationals holding a university degree in communication, public relations, marketing, international relations, or other relevant areas. The graduate professionals will be working closely with the communication team to ensure that their vision aligns with its brand identity and effectively engages the target audience. Eligiblity Criteria
- Applicants from all around the world are eligible to apply
- Individuals holding a university degree, and able to commence the GPP in one year of graduation
- Preference will be given to the applicants holding a postgraduate degree in the areas of public relations, marketing, international relations, or other relevant fields.
- No prior work experience is required for participation; however, applicants having experience in communications would be preferred.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in working with the United Nations
- Applicants can work in a multicultural work environment
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of any other official UN language would be an asset
Remuneration:
- The programme offers a generous remuneration support, which includes a modest stipend of (USD 1,331/month) as a contribution towards your living expenses.
Required Skills
- Expertise in content creation platforms such as websites, social media, Canva, Photoshop, etc
- Better understanding of web management that includes content management in WordPress, and knowledge of tools like Google Analytics, search console
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of project management tools such as Trello, etc, for managing tasks
Role:
- Implement the organization’s communication strategy
- Manage the website updates, including publications, event posting, etc
- Design an email campaign for effective promotion
- Design artworks for the social media platforms
- Assist in event planning
- Perform other related tasks assigned by the department head
