The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), one of the autonomous institutions within the United Nations responsible for researching disarmament and international security issues, via its official portal, has announced 2 Graduate professional positions and invites applications from talented applicants from across the world to apply and have an opportunity to gain first hand experience in one renowned institutions of the United Nations. The duration of the assignment is six months, during which the selected professionals will perform their duties under the supervision of the Programme Head and Research Pillar Coordinator, and assist with administrative support and implementation of programme activities
The program is designed for the students currently enrolled in a graduate school programme or higher, or who have completed a first or second university degree in politics, international affairs, conflict studies, peace studies, international law, security studies, or other fields relevant to arms and ammunition. This is a full-time position where students are responsible for managing their academic and program commitments. The best thing about the programme is that no prior work experience is required; individuals with demonstrated experience in conventional arms control would be preferred.
The program offers flexible work arrangements; you can work in-person in Geneva or remotely. Eligiblity Criteria
To be eligible for the UNIDIR Professional programme, you must fulfill the following criteria:
- Nationality: Accepting applications from all nationals
- Academic Status: Students are currently enrolled in the first or second university degree or equivalent, or have graduated.
- Academic Background: have graduated or are pursuing their degree in the fields of politics, international affairs, conflict studies, security studies, international law, or related fields.
- Experience: No prior work experience is required to apply
