Here is an opportunity, Application call for the UNIDIR Graduate Trainee Program 2025 in Switzerland. UNDIR also known as United Nationals Institute for Disarmament Research is seeking applications from the students enrolled in the graduate degree program and recent graduates to join their 6-month trainee program in Geneva, Switzerland, and assist with research, reporting, and outreach on issues related to the Youth Peace and Security (YPS) Agenda. The participants can either join the program remotely or in person depending on their choice and circumstances. The program duration is 6 months which is extendable depending on your research work.
The training program provides comprehensive support and offers a stipend of $1331/Month for the Geneva-based candidates and $661/month for the remote-based candidates. The program does not require any professional work experience to be eligible however candidates having interest in the YPS agenda would be preferred.
The selected participants would conduct research on issues related to the Youth, Peace, and Security agenda and engage with UN partners and stakeholders to support communications, planning, and administrative tasks and will be reporting to the head of the Managing Exits from Armed Conflict and Gender & Disarmament Programme. Program Coverage
The UNIDIR offers a monthly stipend to the participants to cover their living expenses.

Who can Apply?
Students meeting the following criteria are eligible to apply for the UNIDIR GPP 2025:
- UNIDIR is accepting applications from all nationals
- Students enrolled in the Graduate degree program
- Applicants holding a university degree may also apply with a condition to join GPP within one year of graduation
- Preference is given to students belonging to the fields of international relations, political science, social science, international law, and gender studies or other related fields.
- No professional work experience is required
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Fluency in English language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
The trainees will perform the following duties:
- Conduct research on the Youth Peace and Security agenda
- Engage with the UN Partners, stakeholders, and civil society organizations on youth-related issues
- Provide support on fundraising activities
- Assist in planning, and implementing events
- Work on the other tasks assigned by the supervisor
