A fully funded internship program in Japan, exclusively designed for postgraduate students, graduates, and professionals in relevant fields. The duration of the internship is 6 months (approx 24 weeks), which will run from August to February 2025 at UNU Headquarters, Tokyo. The UNU internships are being offered twice a year, and the selection is based on a competitive application process. Internship Purpose

  • To foster interaction and dialogue between young intellectuals, professionals, & UNU
  • To familiarise junior fellows with the work experience at the office of the rector, UNU
  • Offers students and professionals to gain professional work experience at UNU

  • Support the tasks and activities within the office of the rector

Internship Coverage

The UNU internship offers comprehensive financial support that includes:

  • A generous monthly stipend to cover the living expenses
  • Transport coverage to/from the UNU headquarters
  • Access to office facilities

Note: The monthly stipend varies for each duty station

Who can Apply?

Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • UNU is accepting applications from all nationals
  • Students currently pursuing a master’s or Phd degree program or graduated within two years of graduation in a field related to the University’s work.
  • Applicants aged 32 or below at the time of application
  • Does not possess more than 5 years of work experience
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Have excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Maintain effective relations with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Have excellent creative and problem-solving skills
  • Know advanced computer skills, e.g, MS Office applications)
  • Demonstrate interest in the work of the United Nations
