Nationals of Pakistan seeking scholarships in the United States, your wait is over, as one of the most-awaited scholarships is now open for application. The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has announced the application call for “USEFP Fulbright Scholar Program 2026” through its official portal and is seeking applications from passionate applicants from allacross Pakistan to apply. A flagship program of the US Government that funds up to 10 months of the post-doctoral research, lectureship, or a combination of two at one of the designated US universities or colleges. The objective of the Fulbbtight scholars program is to promote mutual understanding between the people of the United States and Pakistan through academic and cultural exchange.
Applicants who are selected under this program are expected to share about Pakistani society and culture with their colleagues, students, and community groups during their stay in the United States. After completing the program, the scholars are expected to contribute to the development of their country and share their US experience with the students, community, and colleagues in their home country. The Fulbright Scholars program will award a total of 15 scholarships for the 2026 session, out of which 13 slots are reserved for the faculty and researchers, and the rest are reserved for senior scholars.
The Government of the US offers generous support to scholars during their 10-month stay in the US, which includes a Research Allowance, Airfare coverage, an incidental research allowance, a competitive health stipend, and more. Eligiblity Criteria
Applicants meeting the following criteria are invited to submit their applications for the Fulbright Scholars Program:
- Calling applications from professionals & Scholars from all disciplines except clinical medicine
- Completed their PhD or terminal degree for at least two years
- Candidates who have been to the United States for research or other long-term educational programs within the last 5 years are not eligible to apply
- Have excellent command of the English language, both written & Spoken
- A well-formulated proposal about their plans in the United States
- Applicants applying for the lecturship must have the ability to teach in the University setting
- Applicants with excellent academic achievements who are currently residing and working in Pakistan
In-Eligiblity
- Persons holding dual US/Pakistani nationality
- A person’s spouse, children, or parents over 18 years of age with permanent US residency
- Employees of the Fulbright organization or the US Department of State
- Candidates already pursuing their education or research in the United States
