Vienna BioCenter Summer School 2026 in Austria (Fully Funded)

To all young aspiring students, do you want an immersive summer research experience in one of Europe’s leading Research Centers, with all your finances covered? Well, if it’s a Yes, then pack your bags as Austria is calling! The application is now open to apply for the Vienna BioCenter Summer School 2026.

An immersive 9-week research program organized by five leading European research institutes and generously funded by the Max Birnstiel Foundation, offers an incredible opportunity for Undergraduate and early master’s students in life sciences to carry out cutting-edge research under the mentorship of VBC experts at one of Europe’s Leading research centers. The selected fellows will be assigned to a faculty member with whom they will work on their research projects and perform experiments, generate ideas, and discuss the outcomes.

In addition to laboratory work, selected participants will also take part in the lab meetings, workshops, journal clubs, and other activities during the program. The summer school will run for 9 weeks, from July 1st to August 31st, at the Vienna BioCenter campus. This is your chance to become a part of Europe’s most renowned undergraduate research program and gain hands-on research experience in life sciences at top European research institutes.

The VBC summer school is fully funded and covers all program costs. The coverage includes Accommodation, Stipend, health coverage, and travel support. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants meeting the following criteria are invited to apply for the VBC summer research program:

  • No country restrictions; open for all nationals
  • Accepting applications from current bachelor’s or master’s students
  • Bachelor’s students must have completed two years of their degree
  • Completing their degree program in Life Sciences or related subjects such as neuroscience, immunology, biochemistry, etc.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
  • Have at least 3 months of research experience in their desired area.
  • PhD students are not eligible to apply.
  • Students must have excellent academic standing

How to Apply for Vienna BioCenter Summer School 2026?

The application process for the VBC summer school is online and straightforward; visit the official link mentioned below and complete your online application.
