Are you up to the challenge of being a Next Generation Global Intellectual Property Leader and supporting the development of global innovation ecosystems? If so, don’t miss out on this two-year competitive WIPO Young Experts Program starting February 1, 2025, which will provide 10 young professionals with knowledge, education, and the opportunity to engage in various initiatives related to WIPOs. The ten fortunate individuals will be trained to contribute to the future economic growth of their nation and regions by being exposed to all the technical and strategic aspects of intellectual property.
Young Expert Program is inviting applications from graduates (Max age 35) having 2 years of relevant work experience with expertise in innovation and/or creativity. The program covers innumerable benefits with a monthly stipend of 5000 Swiss Francs, a 50% contribution covering medical insurance cost, and coverage of travel expenses. Additionally, assisting in getting an Entry Visa in Switzerland. Accommodation assistance is provided by the WIPO’s counselor.
WIPO Academy, the training arm of the World Intellectual Property Organization offers Intellectual Property (IP) education, training, and IP skills to govt, officials, inventors, creators, business Professionals, Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs), academics, students and individuals interested in Intellectual Property (IP).
WIPO is one of the 15 specialized Agencies under the United Nations serving the World’s innovators and creators while administrating Transboundary Intellectual property disputes. Providing Global services to 193 Member states enabling creators, entrepreneurs to protect and their patents, software, business trademarks, Industry designs, Geographical indications, Trade secrets, copyrights, and all other intellectual property.

Program Location & Duration:
- Successful applicants will be working in the WIPO’s headquarters located in Geneva, Switzerland for 24 months.
Who can Apply?
- Maximum age of 35 at the time of application submission accessible for a full year in 2025 and 2026.
- A degree from a university and a minimum of two years of related experience
Required Work Experience :
- Understanding or expertise in intellectual property, creativity, or innovation
Required Skill Set:
- Outstanding research, analytical, and organizational abilities outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities Outstanding in both written and spoken English.

- Applications for the YEP are online, through the official portal
- Virtual interviews will take place in September after the first screening exams in late August, with selection taking place in October.
- Selected individuals will be prepared for the program’s launch on February 1, 2025, through an onboarding procedure that will occur between November and January of that year.
