Aspiring early-career professionals, do you want to gain hands-on experience at one of the renowned international organizations while being paid? Then wait no more, as the Secretariat of the WTO is seeking applications for the WTO Young Professionals Programme 2027. It’s an intensive, yearlong, in-person program at WTO HQ in Geneva, Switzerland, designed for qualified young professionals up to age 32 from WTO member countries to enhance their knowledge of international trade issues and gain exposure to WTO work. Candidates who have completed a university degree in economics, international relations, law, environmental studies, econometrics, or other trade-related fields, with a minimum of 2 years of professional work experience relevant to WTO work, are encouraged to apply. The selected applicants will be placed in a specific division of the WTO secretariat based on their areas of interest. Each applicant is required to select up to three areas of work ranked in order of preference

Who can Apply?

  • Early-career professionals from WTO member countries are invited to apply
  • Have completed their university degree in the areas of Economics, international relations, law, environmental studies, Trade, or other in any other areas relevant to WTO work
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the areas of WTO work
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Demonstrate interest in working with the WTO
  • Know about the WTO work
  • Ability to work independently in multiculture work environment
