This is your chance to Say Yes! to spend one year in the United States of America with the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program! You heard it right application is now open to apply for the YES Youth Exchange Program 2025 an incredible exchange program opportunity for high school students to spend an academic year in the United States of America as an exchange student.

The YES exchange program provides you an opportunity to spend a full academic year in one of the participating high schools in the United States and participate in the various enrichment activities that include community service, leadership training, and other cultural activities that will help you learn about American Culture.

The US Department of State in collaboration with the American Council of Education offers the YES exchange program each year for high school students coming from 37 different countries. The YES program in Pakistan is implemented through a partnership with iLEARN-Pakistan and the Society for International Education.

Since the Yes program’s inception, it has provided over 1500 scholarships to high school students to attend a year exchange program to the United States of America that too fully funded. Eligiblity Criteria

  • Applicants ages between 15-17 by the start of the program are invited to apply
  • Be enrolled in the 9th or 10th standard or O-Levels at the time of application
  • Applicants must have secured a minimum grade point average of 60% in all major subjects including (Sciences, Mathematics, and English)
  • Have no failing grades in the past three years
  • Applicants with a gap year are not eligible
  • Have good English communication skills
  • Must meet American J-1 Visa requirements
  • Applicants with dual nationality of any country are not eligible
  • Applicants must not have traveled to the USA
  • Children and Siblings of YES alumni cannot participate
  • Applicants must be willing to spend time with the host family

YES Program Coverage

This is a fully funded exchange program to the USA, selected applicants will get the following coverage during the program:

  • Students will attend one academic year in a US school without paying any tuition fees
  • Selected students will receive a monthly stipend of $200
  • Visa application fee costs covered
  • Traveling costs to and from the United States are covered
  • Accommodation covered

How to Apply for the 2025 Yes Youth Exchange Program?

To apply for the program you need to go through the following 5 steps:

Step 1: Submission of Application

  • Applicants need to download the application from the official website and print it out, after filling out the complete application now send it by courier with all required documents to the SIE office.

Step 2: Online Interviews

  • After the submission of the application, shortlisted applicants will be invited for the interview session that will be held online. Students who are shortlisted after the interviews are required to submit the Medical Form.

Step 3: Proctored Essays & In-Person Selection Interview

  • Qualified applicants will now appear for a protected writing exercise, group activities, and in-person interview.

Step 4: English Language Test

  • Applicants who are qualified in the 3rd stage now need to take an English language proficiency test.

Step 4: Final Evaluation

  • The final selection of the application will be based on their online application, online interview, in-person interview, and English language test score.
