HBKU Scholarship 2025 Overview:
The program offers full scholarships, partial scholarships, research grants, and merit-based scholarships, and provides a flexible tuition fee process. The scholarships provide varied benefits including a full tuition fee waiver, a monthly stipend, accommodations, and airfare in multiple academic programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, interdisciplinary, executive, and accelerated programs in part-time and full-time study mode. Students with non-degree backgrounds and transfer students can also apply for admission to HBKU degree programs.

Scholarship/Funding (Graduate):
HBKU offers the following scholarships for the graduate degree programs:
Graduate Tuition Fee Waiver: (35-100%) MS/MA, JD, and PHD students can apply for partial or full tuition fee waivers. The scholarships are allotted after a thorough evaluation on the basis of academic merit, excellence, financial needs, and the enrollment status of students (part-time or full-time).
The International Graduate Student Merit Scholarship: provides awards or stipends for MS/MA/JD/PHD to outstanding students who exceed HBKU’s general admission criteria. Please refer to the student evaluation form in the admission policies for further details.
At the full discretion of the committee and upon the Dean’s approval, the International Graduate Student Merit Scholarship offers the following awards:
- Full or partial tuition fee waivers
- Full or subsidized housing cost
- Economy-class airfare
- A monthly stipend

Eligibility Criteria:
- Qualification Wise: You must have earned the following degrees from an accredited university in a relevant or related field
- Master’s program: A bachelor’s degree or higher with a GPA of 3.0
- PhD Program: A Master’s or equivalent with a GPA of 3.0
- Accelerated (Bachelors-Master’s): Successfully completed a minimum of 90 credit hours in a bachelor’s program at HBKU or another recognized institution
- Juris Doctor (JD): A bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.0
- Non-degree students: Non-degree students can apply for regular admission at HBKU if they earned credits for the relevant program with a grade of “B” or higher.

General requirement:
- IELTS: A band score of at least 6.5 OR;
- TOEFL: A score of 79
Exemption Conditions:
- English is your first language.
- You’ve studied in a country where English is the native language.
- Submitting an official letter from the university confirming English as the medium of instruction.
Additional Requirements:
- English language test scores are required in all degree programs, except for the MA in Islamic Studies taught in Arabic.
- If exempt candidates need to improve their understanding of the language, the university can request test scores.
