Application call for the Westlake University 2025 Summer Research Internship. Westlake University is hosting a 6 weeks highly anticipated summer research internship for ambitious international students to experience cutting-edge research in Westklake’s institute state-of-the-art laboratories alongside renowned faculty. The internship will take place in Hangzhou, China from July 14 – August 22, 2025.
Westlake Summer research internship is designed for students currently pursuing bachelor/master degree programs with expected graduation in 2026-27 or who have graduated in the relevant fields. A total of 60-70 research internships will be awarded in 2025. The internships are available in Westlake’s four prestigious schools (School of Science, School of Engineering, School of Medicine & School of Life Sciences) – Do you know what makes this summer internship more attractive? In addition to research work, participants will also have an opportunity to participate in Round table discussions, research forums, and cultural activities allowing them to engage with the diverse Hangzhou community.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants meeting the following criteria are eligible for the Summer Research Internship:
- Non-Chinese citizens with a valid passports are invited to apply
- Currently enrolled in bachelors/masters degree and expected to graduate in 2026-27
- Candidates who have completed the degree program can also apply
- Applicants belong from the following academic backgrounds:
- Biology, Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology & Environmental Science and Engineering or other related disciplines
