About JSPS Research Fellowship 2027
It’s a fully funded fellowship program in Japan, designed for talented researchers from eligible ASEAN countries to take their research beyond their home country and conduct research with a host in Japan. During the fellowship, selected fellows will conduct collaborative research under the supervision of the host researcher.
The objective of the JSPS fellowship program is to foster research cooperation and promote internationalization in Japan.
Fellowship Coverage
The JSPS fellowship offers comprehensive support; the coverage includes:
- Airfare: Round-trip air ticket
- Maintenance Allowance: Up to JPY 362,000 per month
- Miscellaneous: Settling-in Allowance of JPY 200,000
- Research Support: Up to JPY 70,000 per month
- Overseas Travel Insurance
Who can Apply?
- Candidates must have earned their doctoral degrees within the past six years.
- Candidates enrolled in a doctoral program and expected to graduate within 2 years.
- Not previously awarded the JSPS fellowship in Japan.
- Japanese citizens are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have an excellent academic record and achievements.
