To all aspiring writers, do you want to have a fully funded short-term immersive experience in Iceland, a European country renowned for its breathtaking glaciers, Northern Lights, and volcanoes? Well, here is an opportunity. Applications are open to apply for the Iceland Writers Retreat Program 2026. A prestigious short-term program hosted by “Iceland Writers Retreat” to support talented writers who could not afford to attend the retreat without financial support. The program invites applications from individuals aged 18 or older from all around the world, regardless of their academic background or level of writing experience. The programme is offering 2 types of funding for participation: 1) full Funding, 2) Partial funding.
The fully funded coverage includes participants’ fees, accommodation, and air travel coverage. The duration of the program is 5 days, set to take place at Reykjavík, one of the most vibrant and culturally rich cities of Iceland, from April 15th-19th, 2026. The program offers 2 types of awards for participation:

Partially funded
- Partial funding only covers the participation fee
Eligiblity Criteria:
Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are invited to apply:
- Writers’ retreat is accepting applications from all nationalities
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old to apply
- Applicants from any background and level of writing experience can apply
- The program does not require an English proficiency test for participation
- Candidates who have previously attended the program are not eligible to apply
