British Council Women in STEM Scholarship 2026-2027 | Fully Funded

To all the ambitious women dreaming of pursuing higher education in the United Kingdom without worrying about finances, today, this post is specifically dedicated to you. Applications for one of the most prestigious “British Council Women in STEM Scholarship” are now open for the 2026-2027 Academic session. The UK Government, in collaboration with UK universities, is offering this prestigious scholarship to outstanding women from over 30 countries to pursue a full-time master’s degree program in STEM fields at one of the UK’s participating research institutes.

The objective of the British Council STEM scholarship is to empower deserving women from low-income and developing countries in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by providing them with access to quality education in top-ranked research institutes in the UK. The scholarship offers generous support to the scholars; the award is valued at over £40,000, used against your tuition fees, monthly stipend, travel and visa costs, and IELTS Fee reimbursement.

To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree that allows them to secure admission in a postgraduate course. For the 2026-27 session, the programme will award up to 90 scholarships. Read more details about the programme below.

Who can Apply?

Applicants meeting the following criteria are invitied to submit the applications:

  • The scholarship is accepting applications from women
  • Must be a national of an eligible country: Check here.
  • Must hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized institute
  • Demonstrate the need for financial support to pursue their education in the UK
  • Must show commitment to return to their home country after degree completion
  • There is no age limit to be eligible

It’s a fully funded scholarship. The programme offers the following support to scholars:

  • Full tuition fees cover
  • A competitive monthly allowance of £1,300 and £1,500 to cover living expenses during your stay.
  • Round-trip airfare support from/UK
  • Visa assistance/support
  • Comprehensive health coverage
  • Reimbursement of IELTS test fees
  • Relocation support
  • Allowance for stationery
