Applications are now open for the University of Pavia CICOPS Scholarships 2027. To promote academic research and international cooperation with developing countries, the Committee for International Cooperation and Development at the University of Pavia, in collaboration with the Institute for the Right to University Studies (EDISU), has announced its flagship scholarship program. This program offers a unique opportunity for outstanding visiting scholars from developing countries to undertake a 4–12 week research stay at the University of Pavia. During their stay, visiting scholars will carry out joint research under the supervision of renowned faculty in a world-class research environment.
The scholarship is open to currently employed teachers, lecturers, researchers, or technical staff at universities, research institutes, higher education institutions, or international or governmental organizations, with at least two years of experience at a recognized institute in World Bank low-income, lower-middle-income, or upper-middle-income countries. The scholarship supports a wide range of research areas, including STEM, health and life sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. The application window for the scholarship is currently open. Eligiblity Criteria
Individuals fulfilling the following criteria are invitied to submit the scholarship applications:
- Accepting applications from the citizens of World Bank-designated low, lower-middle, and upper-middle-income countries
- The scholarship is aimed at University professors, lecturers, and researchers with at least 2 years of work experience
- Candidates must be affiliated with a recognized institute in eligible countries
- Candidates currently enrolled in a PhD degree program or pursuing their degrees in Italian institutes are not eligible to apply
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship recipients will receive generous support to conduct their research in Italy without worrying about financial concerns. The coverage includes:
