The Government of Japan has finally opened the doors for international students by announcing its flagship scholarship program. You heard it right! The MEXT Scholarship Program 2027 is now open for the Embassy Track. One of the prestigious scholarship programs for international students in Japan, funded by the Government of Japan through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology, allows outstanding students from across the world to pursue their undergraduate, master’s, PhD, specialized technical, and non-degree programs in leading national, public, or private institutions in Japan.
Each year, MEXT offers 2 application tracks for the scholarship: 1) University Track, 2) Embassy Track. Currently, applications are being accepted for the Embassy Track, which requires you to apply through a Japanese Embassy in your home country. MEXT scholarships offer students the opportunity to pursue their degree in a wide range of areas, including Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts, Medicine, Engineering, and more. Applicants from diverse academic backgrounds are invited to apply. Scholarship Objective:
The objective of the MEXT Japan scholarship is to promote academic exchange and equip young leaders with knowledge and skills enabling them to contribute to the local development of their home countries.

Who can Apply?
MEXT is inviting applications from applicants meeting the following criteria
- Citizens of countries having diplomatic ties with Japan can apply
- Japanese Nationals are not eligible
- Must be in excellent health to attend the program
- proficiency in the English language and willing to learn the Japanese language

How to Apply for the Embassy Track?
Applicants interested in the scholarship should visit the website of the Japanese embassy in their country, go to the scholarship section, and obtain the application form. Prepare all required documents and submit your complete application in A4 format to the Japanese embassy in your home country. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for the entrance exam and interview.
