ASTAR ACIS Scholarship 2027 – Want to pursue your PhD studies at one of the leading institutes in Singapore with all your expenses covered? Here is an exciting opportunity! ASTAR is pleased to announce the application call for its flagship “AStar Computing and Information Science Scholarship”. This fully funded scholarship, provided by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, allows talented students from across the world to pursue a full-time PhD program at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The scholarship aims to attract and support talented students in computing and information science and to enable them to pursue their careers in ASTAR technology enterprises, spin-off companies, R&D labs, and academia.
The successful applicants will be exposed to cutting-edge research on real-world issues in computer science, including artificial intelligence and deep learning, advanced computing, health technology, and digital innovation. The scholarship covers all costs associated with the 4-year PhD program. The coverage includes a monthly stipend, full tuition, stationery allowance, and research allowance. Scholarship Coverage
The selected students will recieve following support for the program duration:
- A generous monthly allowance:
- Singapore nationals will receive: SGD 5800 / Month
- Singapore permanent residents will recieve: SGD 4800 / Month
- International Students will recieve: SGD 4550 / Month
- Full tuition fees coverage
- Monthly Sustenance allowance
- Allowance for Books, computer, participation in conferences, and thesis
- Overseas attachment support
- Eligible for the A*Star fellowship program, which offers 2 years of funding
Eligiblity Criteria
- The scholarship is open to both Singaporean and international students
- Completed a first-class or second-class honours bachelor’s degree
- You can apply for the direct PhD track with a bachelor’s degree
- Applicants must have secured a degree in the fields related to computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, and Statistics
- Demonstrate a strong research interest in computing and information science

The scholarship application consists of a dual track; initially, you need to secure a scholarship nomination by applying via the A*Star portal, and then apply for the Ph.D. degree program at the National University of Singapore.
