Offered by the European Commission, the program provides an excellent opportunity for graduates and vocational education students from around the world to gain professional work experience within the European Union institutions. The Blue Book Traineeship Program is offered twice a year; applications are currently open for the March 2027 intake, which will run from March 1 to July 31st, 2026.
It’s a 5-month paid traineeship during which selected trainees will gain hands-on experience working with commission departments, executive agencies, and other EU-related services. It’s an ideal opportunity to gain hands-on experience in EU policymaking and administration while developing professional skills and intercultural awareness. Don’t miss out. Traineeship Location
- Selected trainees will work in the European Commission, mostly in Brussels and Luxembourg.
Traineeship Types
For the March 2027 session, the European Commission is accepting applciations for the following traineeships:
1. Administrative Traineeship for University Graduates (ADMIN UG)
The traineeship provides hands-on experience in managing office operations and performing administrative tasks
2. Administrative Traineeship for Vocational Education and Training Graduates (ADMIN VET)
The traineeship provides hands-on experience through practical work; trainees apply their vocational skills in a professional environment
3. Translation Traineeship (TRA)
The traineeship offers hands-on experience in translating documents in the trainee’s native language
Who can Apply?
You must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Blue Book traineeship:
- Open to all eligible candidates from EU member states
- Limited slots are also available for non-EU nationals
- Have completed 3 years of standard higher education
- Profiency in the English language
- Must be 18 years or older at the time of application
- NO IELTS/TOEFL required
