ASEAN Korea Young Scholar Research Grant 2026 | Fully funded

Applications are now open for the ASEAN Korea Young Scholar Research Grant 2026 (YSRG), with the motto “Nurturing the next generation of Southeast Asians.” The grant supports Master’s and PhD students from ASEAN countries and the Republic of Korea in conducting field-based research on Southeast Asia and ASEAN-Korea relations. The Young Scholar Research Grant aims to develop the next generation of Southeast Asian scholars by funding high-quality fieldwork and encouraging research that advances understanding of Southeast Asia and ASEAN-Korea cooperation.

Selected researchers receive a monthly stipend, mentorship, and the opportunity to present their research at an international workshop. No application fee is required; the application deadline is September 5, 2026. Read more details below.

 ASEAN Korea Young Scholar Research Grant 2026 Overview

  • Conduct research related to Southeast Asian Studies, ASEAN Studies, or ASEAN-Korea Studies.
  • Submit a research proposal that demonstrates originality, academic quality, and feasible fieldwork.
