Frontier AI Security Residency 2026 in Cambridge, UK – Fully Funded

To all individuals passionate about cybersecurity, AI security, hardware security, and machine learning, we are excited to announce an exciting, fully funded residency program in the United Kingdom that you shouldn’t miss. Applications are open for the Frontier AI Security Residency 2026, a prestigious research and engineering program organized by the ERA in partnership with HERON and the Oxford Hardware AI Governance Lab (HAIGL). The program aims to bring talented researchers and scientists from across the world to work on some of the most important security challenges facing advanced AI systems.

It’s an 8-week residency program taking place in Cambridge, United Kingdom, from October 12 to December 4, 2026. During the program, residents will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts, receive mentorship, and contribute to real-world projects focused on securing the future of frontier AI. Residency Coverage

Number of Fellowships

Who can Apply?

To apply for the Frontier AI Security Residency 2026, you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Candidates from across the world are welcome to apply.
  • Professionals, researchers, graduate students, and engineers with relevant technical skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrate strong interest in AI security, cybersecurity, machine learning, computer science, cryptography, hardware security, software engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • Must commit to a full 8-week in-person residency in Cambridge, UK.
  • Have expereince in research related to AI or security.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Profiency in the English language.
