It is a full-time internship position based at WHO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The program runs for 6 months, from February to July 2027. About the WHO Internship
The internship position is part of the Health Promotion department; selected interns will contribute to preparing the WHO Report on the Global Tobacco Epidemic, which is scheduled for publication in 2027.
Intern’s Role:
Interns will support the team with:
- Proofreading of report drafts.
- Validate data used in the report.
- Conduct web research and collect data.
- Organize and validate data.
- Support the report launch.
- Assist with research and report preparation.
Who can Apply?
Candidates fulfilling the following criteria are invited to apply:
- Students enrolled in a university course leading to a formal qualification.
- Have completed at least 3 years of university study in relevant fields such as Public Health, Health Sciences, Global Health, Data Science, Health Data Analysis, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Statistics, Health Systems, and Research & Tobacco Control.
- Recent graduates who completed their degree within the past 18 months.
- Knowledge of data analysis or statistical software.
- An interest in health information and international health comparisons.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Knowledge of any other UN official language would be a plus.
Internship Coverage
The interns will recieve following support:
- A living allowance of:
- Up to CHF 1,680 per month for interns living outside Geneva
- Up to CHF 739 per month for interns living in Geneva

- Medical and accidental insurance
