As of September 16, 2027, the United Nations has announced another exciting internship. Applications are open for the UN ESCAP Energy Division Internship 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The program is offered by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). It is designed for bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD students, or those who have recently completed their degree in economics, climate change, sustainable development, energy, and related fields from an accredited institution. It’s a full-time, 3-6-month internship program based in Bangkok, Thailand, with a five-day-per-week schedule totaling 375 hours.
The internship offers students hands-on experience in research, energy policy, energy security, data analysis, and implementing SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. About UN ESCAP Internship
The Energy Division of UN ESCAP offers a dynamic internship program that works with member states to strengthen energy security, support the energy transition, and address climate change. As an intern, you will work on real projects alongside professional staff and support research, energy modeling, data analysis, information collection, and knowledge management activities.
Who can Apply?
To be eligible for the UN ESCAP Internship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Applications are welcome from all nationalities
- Students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree programs
- Candidates who have completed a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program
- Bachelor’s students must be in the final year of the degree program
- Applicant’s field of study must be closely related to the internship, such as climate change, public policy, energy policy, electrical engineering, data science, environmental engineering, sustainable development, international development, energy studies, economics, or other closely related fields.
- No prior professional work experience required
- Good knowledge of standard software applications
- Familiarity with MS Office tools
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Knowledge of any other official UN language is an advantage
