Program Overview
The purpose of the contest is to invite young learners and professionals to share their experiences of how the FAO Learning Academy has shaped their journey and how they have turned their acquired knowledge into action, whether through their studies, careers, or by making meaningful contributions to their community. The three winners will have the opportunity to receive a free trip to Rome, Italy, to attend the World Food Forum, taking place from October 12-15, 2026. The winners will be invited to share their real-life stories and experiences before a wider audience.
Global Youth Contest Purpose
The contest aims to:
- Highlight brings forward the stories of impact
- Share your views on how your learning helped in personal growth
- Learn from young people from across the world
- Amplify your voices on the global stage
- Be an agent to drive more sustainable agrifood systems
Who can Apply?
To be eligible for the contest, you must meet the following criteria:
- Accepting applications from all countries and regions
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application
- Must be registered as a learner at the FAO eLearning Academy
- Demonstrate how e-learning has transformed your knowledge and skills
- Have completed FAO Academy courses and have acquired a badge
- Must hold a valid passport by at least April 2027
Benefits
The three winners of the contest will have an opportunity to travel to Rome

- The trip to Rome will be fully funded
- Winners will share their stories in video interviews that will be featured across all FAO media
Selection Criteria
The selection is based on the following factors:
- Number of digital badges acquired
- Quality and impact of your story with clear evidence
- Proof of completion of FAO e-learning courses
- Preference will be given to young learners from vulnerable, underrepresented groups
- Note: The use of AI tools to generate stories is strongly prohibited
