Applications are invited for the GCF IEU Policy Internship 2026. The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is now accepting applications for the “IEU Policy Intern position” at its headquarters in South Korea. This is an excellent opportunity for master’s and PhD students, as well as recent graduates, to gain hands-on experience at the world’s largest climate fund while working alongside international experts on real-time projects. The internship is open to all nationalities, with preference given to candidates from developing countries. It’s a paid internship. Selected interns receive a monthly stipend of USD 1,600, comprehensive global health insurance, and round-trip airfare for international participants. The internship lasts 6 months and begins in September 2026 in Songdo, Incheon City, Republic of Korea. No application fee is required. The application deadline is July 22, 2026.

Who can Apply?

To be eligible for the IEU Policy Intern position, you must meet the following criteria:
  • The internship position is open to all nationalities.
  • Be pursuing or recently completing a Master’s or PhD in law, public policy, political science, international development studies, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Have excellent research and policy analysis skills.
  • Be proficient in English.
  • Have experience with presentation or data visualization tools.
  • Be able to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and confidentiality.

Intern Role

Under the guidance of the Head of IEU, the selected intern will be assisting with the following duties:

  • Conduct policy research and benchmarking analysis.
  • Support evaluation policy reviews and independent evaluations.
  • Assist during GCF Board meetings and follow-up activities.
  • Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations.
  • Provide administrative support.
  • Perform additional research and operational tasks as assigned.
