We are here with exciting news for the PhD students! Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has recently announced an International Research Support Initiative Programme 2025. The program is inviting applications from both male and female students currently pursuing full-time PhD degree programs at the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The duration of the research fellowship is 6 months. The program’s objective is to provide international exposure to the PhD students so they can enhance their quality of research work and build strong linkages between Pakistani and international institutions. The research support program will enhance the quality of PhD research in Pakistan and prepare qualified manpower so they can contribute towards the betterment of the country. HEC Research Support Initiative Program 2025 Details

- Duration: 6 Months

Eligibility Criteria:
- The research program is open for AJK/Pakistani nationals
- Currently pursuing a full-time PhD in a higher education institution in Pakistan
- Have completed at least 18 credits hours of the degree program
- Students are eligible after 18 months of enrollment in PhD degree
- Have passed the University admission test or GAT subject test at the time of registration
- Have secured acceptance or invitation letter for research from one of the foreign institutes and labs
- Have an approved research topic by the Board of Advanced Studies and research
- The acceptance or invitation letter must be from the top 200 institutes as per Times Ranking
- Students who have availed of any other HEC scholarship can also apply for the program

- Enhance the research quality of Doctoral research in Pakistan
- Prepare a mass of highly qualified manpower to contribute towards the country’s development
- Provide advanced research lab exposure to Doctoral students in reputed institutes
- Deepen international collaborations
