IATSS Forum 2027 in Japan for Young Professionals – Fully Funded

Want to embark on an immersive leadership journey in Japan? If so, here is an exciting opportunity you must consider! Applications are invited for the IATSS Forum 2027, an 8-week immersive international leadership development program in Japan designed for young professionals from eligible Asian countries. Organized by the IATSS Forum, the program brings together young professionals from different Asian countries to strengthen their leadership skills, exchange cultures, learn from people with different backgrounds, and work on regional challenges connected to sustainable development in Asia.

The program will be held in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan, and will run in two sessions, May–July 2027 and September–November 2027. The program covers all costs for selected participants, including round-trip airfare, accommodation, participation fees, and more. No application fee is required. Submit your application before September 30, 2026.

About IATSS Forum

It’s a fully funded international leadership development program organized by the International Association of Traffic and Safety Sciences. The forum brings together young professionals from different Asian countries to contribute to Asia’s future development. The 8-week leadership program features seminars, field studies, group research, cultural exchange, and leadership activities.

The forum runs under the motto “Thinking and Learning Together,” allowing participants to work together and learn from both professionals and each other.

Forum Period

The forum is held in two sessions:

  • 71st IATSS Forum: May to July 2027
  • 72nd IATSS Forum: September to November 2027

Eligiblity Criteria

The IATSS forum 2027 is accepting applications from applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Be a national of an eligible Asian country
  • Eligible countries are: Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam.
  • Applicants must be 35 years or younger at the time of application.
  • Must be a full-time employee working in a professional field.
  • Freelancers and self-employed individuals can also apply.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of full-time professional work experience.
  • Have good English communication skills.
  • Commit to full-time participation during the forum dates.
  • Students enrolled in degree programs are not eligible to apply.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit to attend the program
