JINR Start Winter Program 2026 in Dubna, Russia (Fully Funded)

To all the aspiring students, do you want to have a short-term immersive research experience in Russia this winter? Well, this is your chance to make your Winter 2026 productive. Applications are now open to apply for the JINR Start Winter Program 2026. A prestigious program hosted by JINR, also known as the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, offers an opportunity to international students to carry out advanced-level research under the supervision of renowned JINR experts at Dubna, Russia. The JINR program is exclusively designed for the highly talented students currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree program in science, engineering, IT, or related fields.

The objective of the JINR Start winter program is to promote international scientific collaboration between Russia and JINR member states and introduce talented students to JINR’s state-of-the-art research activities and facilities located in Dubna, Russia. The duration of the Winter program is 6-8 weeks, during which the selected participants will have an opportunity to gain hands-on research experience by working on advanced-level research projects under the supervision of renowned JINR experts in an international research environment.

There are no country restrictions; applicants from all around the world are invited to submit their applications. The JINR covers all the costs of participants related to the program, the coverage includes round-trip air travel, Accommodation, Stipend, insurance, etc., for the duration of the program. Eligiblity Criteria

Students fulfilling the following criteria are invited to submit the applications for, Start Winter Program:

  • Students from all around the world are invited to apply
  • Students currently pursuing undergraduate, master’s, & PhD degree programs in the fields related to Science, Engineering & IT can apply
  • Bachelor’s students must have completed two years of their degree program
  • PhD students must be in the first year of their degree program
  • Applicants who previously participated in the JINR winter programme cannot apply

Coverage

The JINR covers all the costs of participants related to the program, which includes:

  • Round-trip air travel coverage
  • Visa & Comprehensive health coverage
  • Accommodation
  • A daily stipend of 2000 roubles

Scientific Fields

Students’ fields must be aligned to one of the following JINR Scientific Fields:

  1. Theoretical Physics
  2. Elementary Particle Physics & Relativistic Nuclear Physics
  3. Nuclear Physics
  4. Networking, Computing, and Computational Physics
  5. Engineering and instrumentation
  6. Condensed matter physics, Radiation & Radiobiological Research
