The Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) has recently announced its fellows program through its official portal and is inviting applications from talented individuals from all around the world to apply and experience working closely with the renowned research groups, projects, and other fellows on topics related to advanced sustainability transformations in Potsdam, Germany.
The objective of the program is to provide organizational and financial support to fellows for their activities and extend their national and international network. The programme is accepting applications from all parts of society, including public administration, science, civil society, private sector, arts, and media from all across the world. Applicants from any part of the world, regardless of academic or professional background, are eligible to apply.
The duration of the fellowship is 6-12 months; in exceptional cases, it can be extended for up to 24 months. RIFS offers comprehensive financial support to the fellows that includes a stipend, relocation support, travel expenses, and accommodation. A total of 20 Fellows will be awarded for the 2025 session. Eligibility Criteria
The fellow Programme is inviting applications from applicants from all sectors of society that including Academic, Public Administration, Civil Society, Media, Arts, and the Private sector from all around the world.
The criteria for Non-Academic and Academic applicants vary; you must meet one of the following criteria:
Academic Applicants
- Applicants holding a Phd or equivalent level of experience
- Possesses a track record of independent research
Non-Adademic Applicants
- Candidates holding at least 3-5 years of work experience in their desired fields
- Demonstrate clear connections to sustainability
Research Areas
Applicants’ project must relate to one of three RIF’s research themes:
- Sustainability Transformations and Society
- Advancing Transdisciplinarity and Co-Creation
- Transforming Human-Earth Interactions
