SNU Global Scholarship in South Korea 2024 (Fall Intake)

SNU’s Office of International Affairs has announced the SNU Global Scholarship in South Korea for the Fall 2024 Intake. Applications are invited by the international students who are enrolled or will be enrolling in the graduate degree program.

For the Fall 2024 intake, SNU will award approximately 160 scholarship awards, the scholarship awards are further divided into two categories (Global Scholarship 1) & (Global Scholarship 2) we will discuss later in this post. The scholarship award covers a Full Tuition Fee Waiver, an Airfare ticket, and a monthly stipend of  KRW 1,200,000.

Scholarship Support Period

• The SNU Global scholarship is awarded for the duration of 6 Months or 1 semester.

Graduate Programs at Seoul National University

SNU Graduate School offers 106 programs across 5 major fields of study that are:

1. Engineering
2. Natural Sciences
3. Social Sciences & Humanities
4. Medicine
5. Interdisciplinary programs

Scholarship Coverage & Type

The scholarship awards are divided into two main categories that are:

1. Global Scholarship (GS 1)
2. Global Scholarship (GS 2)

Let’s discuss them in detail:

(GS 1) Award:

• The award covers full tuition fees, Air support (One time), A Monthly Stipend of KRW 1,200,000, Arrival support to newly admitted students, and Departure Airfare Support.

(GS 2) Award

• The Global Scholarship (GS 2) only covers a full tuition fee waiver.

* Korean Language training tuition fee waiver is applicable for both GS1 & GS2.

Note: GS1 and GS2 scholarship awards are decided on the basis of the screening results and the number of available spots in your affiliated department.

Who can Apply?

• All international students can apply for the SNU Scholarship
• Applicants enrolled or planning to enroll in a graduate degree program at SNU
• To be eligible applicants must have one regular semester remaining in their program.
• Applicants who completed all the required courses by Sept 2024 are not eligible

How to Apply?

• Before mentioning the application steps let us mention the application period dates: 28th June – 7th July 2024. All interested applicants need to submit their applications within the given timeframe.

Now let’s start with the application steps:

1. Applicants need to create an account on mySNU and sign in.
2. Now go to the Academic Affairs – Scholarship – and apply for a scholarship
3. Find the scholarship notice and press “Apply”

Note: Extra points are awarded to the applicants who submit a video link (Vimeo & Youtube) in which they present their achievements, story plan, and goals after graduating. Note: The video should be a maximum of 5 minutes.

Selection Process

The selection is totally on a merit basis your desired college or department will screen your application and will update the Office of International Affairs regarding your screening results.

Shortlisted applicants would be notified by the (OIA) through email.

Result Announcements Dates:

• For fresh students: July 24th, 2024
• For enrolled students: August 2nd, 2024.
