Academic Sinicia, Taiwan, one of the leading research institutes in Taiwan, has recently announced its flagship TIIP internship program, formerly known as TIGP-IIP, through its official portal. The institute is seeking applications from motivated and dynamic male and female applicants from around the world.

The Taiwan International TIIP internship is intended for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s degree program, or those who have recently graduated from recognized institutions, to apply for an opportunity to gain hands-on training and scientific experience at Academia Sinica and its host partner institutes. The duration of the internship is 2 months and usually runs in three cohorts. Applicants can select their desired dates in the application. The TIIP offers a unique opportunity to students and fresh graduates to experience cutting-edge scientific research while contributing to ongoing projects under the supervision of a renowned principal investigator.

The internship offers research opportunities in a wide range of areas, including Mathematics and physical sciences, Humanities and social sciences. Beyond research, participants will also participate in Mandarin Chinese language sessions, professional development workshops, and culture immersions through organized culture tours. The TIIP program offers comprehensive support to its interns, which includes a monthly stipend, travel support, accommodation, and more. No application fee is required to apply for the program. Eligiblity Criteria

Applicants meeting the following criteria are invited to submit their applications for the TIIP internship:

  • The internship is open to all nationals
  • Students currently enrolled in the bachelor’s or master’s degree programs
  • Bachelor’s students must be in the final year of their degree program
  • An academic background in STEM or social sciences-related fields
  • Applicants must be pursuing their degree programs in recognized institutes
  • Applicants who have completed their Bachelor’s or master’s degrees can also apply

Ineligiblity 

  • Students currently enrolled in the PhD degree program
  • Applicants who have previously participated in the TIIP program
  • Current research assistant or employees of the host institute

TIIP Internship Coverage

The internship covers all the costs related to the program. The coverage includes

  • A competetive monthly stipend of NTD 30,000 (approx. USD 930)/Month
