After receiving an overwhelming response to United Nations internships, Today at Opportunities Radar, I have curated a list of UN Agency Internships 2026 that are currently accepting applications. Throughout the year, multiple United Nations agencies, such as UNICEF, UNHCR, UNDP, FAO, and UN Women, working across multiple areas to promote peace and sustainable development, offer internships for outstanding students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the humanitarian and development sector, and to gain exposure to the United Nations’ work.
The internship positions are offered in multiple UN agencies’ regional hubs, country offices, and HQ worldwide. The minimum duration of the internship at the UN is 2 months, and the maximum is 12 months. Students currently enrolled in a university degree (bachelor’s, master’s & PhD) or who have recently graduated are invited to submit their applications. Students with excellent academic achievement and an interest in United Nations work are highly encouraged to apply.
The UN agencies offer a wide range of benefits to their interns, including a competitive stipend, hands-on experience, CV enhancement, health insurance, and remote flexibility. Moreover, some agencies also provide travel and visa expenses.

UNICEF Thought internship is a flagship initiative of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund that allows students and fresh graduates to gain professional work experience while working on UNICEF’s real-time projects. Its a full-time paid internship program at UNICEF’s Global Programme division, New York Office. The internship is designed for students and recent graduates in business, economics, social sciences, international development, or related fields. The United Nations Development Programme is seeking applications for the Business Operations Intern for its Unit of Information and Technology Management (ITM) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The United Nations University is accepting applications for its UNU Junior Fellow internship program taking place in Tokyo, Japan. The UNU is inviting applications from postgraduate students and recent graduates in areas related to the UNU’s work.
