Universität Hamburg offers scholarships to outstanding international students to pursue their Master’s and Doctoral degree programs in any field of study. Who can Apply?
Applicants fulfilling the following criteria are eligible for the Universität Hamburg merit scholarship:
- International students enrolled in the University of Hamburg
- Students who have completed at least 2 semesters of Masters degree.
- Students who have completed at least 1 semester of a Doctoral degree.
- German nationals are not eligible to apply
- Not eligible for the federal student loan scheme
Scholarship Value and Duration
Masters Degree
- The scholars will be awarded with the monthly stipend of €930 for the duration of 12 months.
Doctoral Degree
- The Doctoral researchers would be awarded a monthly stipend of €1,200 per month. The maximum funding period is three years.
Selection Procedure
The selection is totally merit-based and is done by the university faculty and ASTA (Student Council) on the basis of the following criteria:
- Applicants who have an excellent academic record
- Students with great capabilities of presentation, publications, and skills.
- Participation in volunteer work
- The applicant needs of financial situation
