UN WIPO Internship Program 2027 in Geneva – Stipend (1,645 to 2,170 CHF)

Earlier today, we posted about the WIPO Fellowship Programme designed for young professionals and graduates. Once again, we are here with another exciting opportunity from the same organization, this time for students and recent graduates. Applications are now open for the WIPO Internship Program 2027, a fully funded internship in Geneva, Switzerland, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

This prestigious internship offers an excellent opportunity for students and recent graduates from around the world to gain hands-on experience in intellectual property by working on real-world projects at WIPO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The internship duration ranges from 2 to 12 months. Selected interns will receive a wide range of benefits, including a monthly stipend of CHF 2,170, medical insurance, visa assistance, travel support, and more. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis through the WIPO Internship Roster, and there is no application fee. The application deadline is January 4, 2027. See more details below.

Internship Categories

WIPO offers two internship participation categories:

Undergraduate Internship (Category I):

  • Students enrolled in the final year of the undergraudate degree programme.
  • Applicants who have completed their bachelor’s degree within the last two years.
  • Master’s students who have not completed their thesis.

Graduate Internship (Category II)

  • Applicants who have completed their master’s degree within the last two years.
  • Graudate students who have completed their coursework, not their thesis.
  • Students pursuing an advanced degree.

Internship Areas

WIPO internships are available in a wide range of areas including:

  • Law, Intellectual Property, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology (IT), Project Management, Technical Cooperation, Administration, Marketing, Communications, Translation, and other related disciplines

Internship Benefits

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend of CHF 1,645 or CHF 2,170.

  • Up to CHF 1,500 travel reimbursement.
  • Visa assistance.
  • 2.5 days of annual leave per month.

Who can Apply?

  • WIPO is inviting applications from all nationalities.
  • Enrolled in undergraudate or graduate degree program or
  • Have graduated within the last two years.
  • Working knowledge of English or French.
  • Meet the internship category requirement.
  • Commit to full-time participation during the internship dates.
  • Have not previously attended a WIPO internship.
