The World Bank Group, through its official website, has announced the flagship Pioneer internship and is seeking applications from highly talented and motivated students from across the world. A World Bank’s premier internship program, which provides students with hands-on practical experience while working on impactful projects in a multicultural work environment under the supervision of World Bank experts. Moreover, students will gain valubale insights into the working of the World Bank group and have exposure to the Bank’s mission.

The Pioneers internship is designed for students currently enrolled in Undergraduate, Master’s & PhD degree programs in internationally recognized institutions. There is no prior work experience requirement; applicants with relevant work experience would be preferred. The internships are available in a wide range of operations and support areas, including Human Development, Social Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Environment, Natural Resource management, and more. Students from diverse academic backgrounds are invited to apply.

The minimum duration of the internship is 3 months, and the maximum duration is 6 months. The internship positions are based in Washington D.C. and other country offices located worldwide. In addition to professional training, interns will also receive an hourly allowance to cover the costs related to the program. The Pioneer internship has started accepting applications from Janaury 19th, 2026, and the last date for the submission of applications is February 17th, 2026. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria for the WBG Pioneers internship:

  • WBG Internship is open to all nationalities
  • Undergraduate track: students must be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree
  • Graduate track: students must be in a Master’s or PhD degree program
  • No prior work experience required
  • Applicants with professional work experience would be an asset
  • Demonstrate excellent academic achievements
