Applications are open for the CSIS Research Internship 2026. The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is seeking applications for Research Interns for its Southeast program. A full-time internship program in Washington, DC, invites applications from talented and highly motivated students and recent graduates with a strong background in Southeast Asian studies, US-Southeast Asia relations, and international relations. The internship is intended for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program or who have recently graduated in international relations, political science, public relations, or related fields, with a strong interest in Southeast Asian geopolitics and US-ASEAN relations.

The internship is highly competitive. Applicants with excellent academic standing are invited to submit applications. It’s a paid internship program. Selected interns will be paid hourly based on their experience. Eligiblity Criteria

The organization is seeking applications from young professionals meeting the following criteria:

  • Calling college juniors and recent graduates
  • Demonstrate an excellent academic record
  • Currently enrolled or graduated from an accredited U.S institute or equivalent
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Have knowledge to operate social media

Benefits

The intern will receive an hourly stipend based on education level:

  • Undergrads will receive a stipend of $18.00 per hour
  • Individuals who have completed a bachelor’s degree receive $19.00 per hour.
  • Graduate students receive: $20.00 per hour.
