The Asia Europe Foundation is pleased to announce the applications for the ASEF LinkUp 2026 – Asia Europe Cultural Diplomacy Lab and invites arts and cultural professionals from across Asia and Europe to apply. It’s a fully funded international program taking place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 23–27 November 2026. Organized by the Asia Europe Foundation in partnership with Motovila (CED Slovenia), the LinkUp aims to bring together young professionals from the arts and culture sectors to discuss the future of international cultural cooperation under the theme of “Sustainability, Ethics and Equity in International Cultural Relations.” The program aims to strengthen cross-cultural diplomacy, encourage cross-border collaboration, and build professional networks. About ASEF LinkUp 2026
It’s a prestigious international cultural diplomacy laboratory organized by ASEF in partnership with Motovila (CED Slovenia). The programme is designed to connect young professionals from the arts and cultural sectors across Asia & Europe.
The 2026 edition focuses on:
- Sustainability in cultural cooperation.
- Ethics in diplomacy.
- Equity in cultural partnerships.
- Build stronger Asia-Europe ties.
- Cross-cultural dialogue between policymakers and professionals.
Programme Theme
The theme of the 2026 edition of ASEF LinkUp is Sustainability, Ethics and Equity in International Cultural Relations. Participants will explore the theme by engaging in:
- Interactive workshops.
- Group discussions.
- Collaborative learning sessions.
- Policy Dialogues.
- Networking sessions.
- Site visits to cultural institutions in Slovenia.
Programme Phases
The ASEF LinkUp programme consists of three interconnected phases:
Phase 1: Online Community Building (15 October – 12 November 2026)
- In this phase, participants will join online introductory sessions and prepare for the in-person programme.
Phase 2: In-person Cultural Diplomacy Lab (23-27 November 2026)
- Participants will attend the cultural diplomacy lab in person in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where they will explore the theme and participante in interactive workshops and expert-led discussions.
Phase 3: Post-Programme engagement
- Consists of 3 online sessions between December 2026 and February 2027.
Financial Coverage
Participants will receive the following financial support:
- Round-trip international airfare coverage.
- Accommodation in Ljubljana.
- Meals during your stay.
- Local transportation costs.
- Access to program workshops, cultural activities, and networking sessions.
Who can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be nationals of an eligible ASEM partner country.
- Be at least 21 years old at the time of application.
- Be active professionals in the arts, culture, or creative sectors.
- Have Relevant experience in international cultural cooperation, cultural policy, or cultural relations.
- Demonstrate strong interest in cultural diplomacy and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Have excellent English communication skills.
- Be available to participate in the full programme in Ljubljana from 23–27 November 2026.
