Erasmus Mundus MAPP Scholarship 2027-29 | Study Masters in Europe (Fully Funded)

Applications are open for the Erasmus Mundus MAPP Scholarship 2027-29 Cohort. This prestigious scholarship program, co-funded by the European Union through Erasmus+, offers talented students the opportunity to pursue a 2-year international master’s program in Public Policy. The MUNDUS MAPP is exclusively designed for students with an internship in public policy, development, governance, European affairs, or international policy. The program is delivered by a consortium of 4 European institutes. Students will study at two universities in two different countries and choose from four available study tracks, listed later in this post. The program is open to all nationalities, and no application fee is required. The application deadline for financial aid is December 1st, 2026.

About Erasmus Mundus MAPP?

Mundus MAPP is a highly competitive and prestigious joint master’s program focused on Public Policy.

The programme is delivered through four European universities:

  1. Central European University Private University (Austria)
  2. Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (Spain)
  3. University of York (United Kingdom)
  4. International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands)

Students will complete the program through the mobility track and study in two countries. It is not an ordinary program; it combines academic study with practical experience through an internship, policy labs, a study visit, and a master’s thesis, allowing students to understand how policies are designed and implemented.

Study Tracks 

Students can choose one track out of the following four mobility tracks:

1. CEU-IBEI – Global Public Policy

  • Year 1: Vienna
  • Year 2: Barcelona

2. ISS-IBEI – Political Economy and Development

  • Year 1: The Hague
  • Year 2: Barcelona

3. CEU-York – European Public Policy

  • Year 1: Vienna
  • Year 2: University of York

4. ISS-York – Governance and Development

  • Year 1: The Hague
  • Year 2: University of York

Who can Apply?

  • Erasmus MAPP is open to both European and third-country nationals
  • Have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
  • Have a minimum CGPA of 3.17/4.0 or equivalent
  • Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or the natural sciences are not eligible
  • Final-year bachelor’s students can also apply, provided they complete their degree before enrolling in the program
  • Demonstrate strong interest in the program
  • Meet the language requirements
  • No prior work experience required
  • Relevant work experience would be an advantage
  • Students must be willing to study in two different countries as per their track

Language Requirements:

  • IELTS Academic: 7.0 or above
  • TOEFL iBT: 95 or above
  • PTE Academic: 76 or above
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced
  • Cambridge C2 Proficiency
  • Duolingo English Test: 130 or above

Language Exemption

Students who have completed their bachelor’s degree entirely in English may qualify for the language waiver  OR

Citizens of Australia, Canada, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, New Zealand, the USA, the European Union, the UK, or Switzerland are exempt from the English proficiency requirement.

Scholarship Coverage

The programme covers:

  • Full tuition fee waiver
  • A stipend of €1,400 per month
  • Travel support
  • Visa coverage
  • Installation costs
  • Living and subsistence costs
  • Additional travel and visa support when moving between consortium countries
  • Support for the Year 2 Winter School

Note: Your personal statement must be no more than 500 words and must explain the reason for applying, research interests, relevant academic experience, plans, and preferred study tracks.

Application Deadline:

The 2027-29 cohort has 3 deadlines:

  1. Scholarship Deadline: December 1, 2026
  2. Self-funded non-EU/EEA residents: April 15th, 2027
  3. Self-funded EU/EEA residents: July 1st, 2026
