Applications are open for the Eur-Asian Border Lab Essay Contest 2025. The contest hosted by the Eur-Asian Border Lab is inviting applications from foreigners from all around the world to participate in the innovative essay contest and have a chance to attend the Lab’s Final Event at Tallinn University, Estonia, that will take place from October 8-11, 2025.
The contest is specifically designed for scholars and practitioners who are engaged in border studies to explore the evolving nature of borders in the context of world politics. The winners of the contest will attend the lab’s final event at Tallinn University in Estonia, and all the expenses related to the program will be borne by the host organization, which includes accommodation and economy class air travel tickets.
The top three essays will also be published on the Eru-Asian Border Lab website and social media platforms. Moreover, renowned border scholars will also be introduced to your research. How to Submit an Essay?
Follow the following steps to successfully submit your essay
Essay File
- The essay file should be named as your essay title
- Include multimedia and visuals in PDF format or linked
- Don’t mention your name in the essay or captions
Cover Letter:
- The cover letter should be in a separate document, in PDF.
- Include the essay title, your name, and affiliation
- List all the submitted materials (eg, links, videos, and images)
Multimedia and Visiuals
- Use highly quality JPEG images
- Add titles or relevant information in captions
- Include visuals in the PDF and send them as a separate file
- Use wetransfer for large files, or YouTube, Google Drive, and Vimeo

Application Deadline
