The purpose of the contest is to highlight inspiring learning journeys that lead to impact and amplify young voices on the global stage. The contest is accepting applications from all nationalities. To be eligible for the FAO Global Youth Contest, you must be between 18 and 35 years of age and be registered with the FAO e-Learning Academy. Applicants from across the world are welcome to apply; however, FAO highly encourages applications from underrepresented and vulnerable groups.
No application fee is required. Applicants must submit a short written story, and applications for the contest are open until July 31, 2026.

Program Overview
The purpose of the contest is to invite young learners and professionals to share their experiences of how the FAO Learning Academy has shaped their journey and how they have turned their acquired knowledge into action, whether through their studies, careers, or by making meaningful contributions to their community. The three winners will have the opportunity to receive a free trip to Rome, Italy, to attend the World Food Forum, taking place from October 12-15, 2026. The winners will be invited to share their real-life stories and experiences before a wider audience.

Who can Apply?
To be eligible for the contest, you must meet the following criteria:
- Accepting applications from all countries and regions
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application
- Must be registered as a learner at the FAO eLearning Academy
- Demonstrate how e-learning has transformed your knowledge and skills
- Have completed FAO Academy courses and have acquired a badge
- Must hold a valid passport by at least April 2027

The selection is based on the following factors:

- Note: The use of AI tools to generate stories is strongly prohibited
