Once again, we are here with another exciting, fully funded fellowship program hosted at one of Singapore’s leading institutes that you should not miss. Applications are invited for the NUS AJF Fellowship Programme 2026. The Asia Journalism Fellowship (AJF) is a prestigious, short-term fellowship program organized by the Temasek Foundation and hosted by the Institute of Policy Studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The program is aimed at talented mid-career journalists from across Asia to advance their professional skills, exchange ideas, and build cross-border networks. It’s an 8-week immersive fellowship program that will run from July 6th to August 28, 2026.

The fellowship will be held in a hybrid format. The first four weeks will be conducted online, followed by the remaining four weeks in person in Singapore. The AJG program offers hands-on learning through professional workshops, seminars, visits, and briefings. All costs related to the AJF fellowship will be borne by the host organization. Fellowship Duration

The fellowship lasts 8 weeks and features both online and in-person participation.

  • The first four weeks will be conducted online
  • The remaining four weeks will be held in person at the National University of Singapore

Fellowship Coverage

The AJF fellows will recieve following support:

  • Round-trip airfare coverage to/from Singapore
  • 4 weeks of accommodation at a shared service apartment in Singapore
  • A stipend of $900 to cover your basic costs during your stay
  • Visa application fee coverage
  • Airport transfer

Not Included: Fellows are responsible for their own travel insurance that covers the full duration of their stay

Who can Apply?

To be eligible for the AJF Fellowship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants from Asian countries are eligible to apply
  • The fellowship is intended for mid-career journalists working as full-time journalists
  • Journalists must have a minimum of 5 years of journalism experience
  • Working in Asian Media Organization – it can be Television, Digital, Print, Radio, Multimedia.
  • Freelance Journalists are also eligible to apply if journalism is their main source of income
  • Fluency in the English language, both spoken and written
  • Present employer written agreement for participation in an 8-week fellowship

Key Elements of Fellowship:

Professional workshops: participants will engage in short-term intensive workshops to strengthen their newsroom skills

Professional Seminars: participants will participate in professional seminars headed by the experts, where they will share their expertise and experience, and engage in discussions

Briefings & Visits: the fellowship also features visits and talks with experts from business, government, and community organizations to have a better understanding of Singapore
