The ISEAS Yousof Ishak Institute in Singapore has announced the call for applications for its flagship “Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellowship 2027.” It seeks applications from talented researchers and mid-career policymakers from across the world to conduct policy-relevant research in the areas of international politics and security, regional economics, and digital technology. The minimum duration of the fellowship is 2 months, and the maximum is 6 months, subject to approval by the host institute. During the program, successful candidates will reside at ISEAS. The fellowship was established in honor of Professor Wang Gungwu, the former Chairman of its Board of Trustees, to complement his 17-year tenure at the institute. 

The objective of the Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellows program is to train and enable the next generation of policymakers and researchers by providing them with exposure to how major global powers influence South Asia through policy-relevant research. The fellowship offers generous support to fellows, covering all costs related to the program. This support includes a competitive monthly stipend, round-trip airfare, access to office space, ISEAS facilities, and more.
